A few months ago, during a bout of insomnia, I envisioned a universe, and have started developing it in my mind recently. Naturally, this inspired various scenarios/vignettes in my mind, and I've found myself compelled to write about them. And for the first time in 2+ years, I find myself writing without any feeling of forcing it.

The writing itself is... probably best described as a snippet from a novel? It was really just dipping my toe into the universe, introducing a couple of characters, getting a feel for the place and so forth. I've got a couple more ideas to write too, so hopefully they'll help me expand a bit as well.

At any rate, I'm moderately pleased with what I've written so far, and so am sharing it - partly seeking feedback, and partly in a fit of excited "omgI'vedonesomethingYAAAAY!" This probably doesn't surprise you.
